Workers Memorial Day is Held every year on the 28 April, all over the world. Over 20,000 people die every year because of their work. They die because their workplace decided their safety just wasn’t that important a priority. Workers’ Memorial Day (WMD) commemorates those workers.
The day is also intended to serve as a rallying cry to “remember the dead, but fight for the living”.
GMB Birmingham & West Midlands Region will be holding it’s annual ceremony at St John the Baptist church in Halesowen at 11.30am. Everyone is welcome to join Officers and Staff at the region for this very important event, and remember all those that have died due to their workplace.
